meet CHOREOGRAPHER JACKIE KOPCSAK

Dance-maker, educator and performer Jackie Kopcsak brings ethereal and timeless dance to PERFECT/UNION on July 16 with a nod to classics while exploring dynamic duos.

jkopcsakheadshotJACKIE KOPCSAK is a dance educator, choreographer and performer who received her training through Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington. There, she performed in many great works by choreographers George Balanchine, Kent Stowell and Paul Taylor and has since performed leading roles in the classical ballet repertoire as well as in new contemporary works and musical theatre productions. As a choreographer, Jackie has created work for numerous ballet and opera companies, musical theatre ensembles, symphony orchestras and art museums throughout the West Coast. She holds a B.A. in History from the University of Washington, Seattle, and an M.F.A. in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. Jackie is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice at the new USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and is a founding director of ArtistsPlus Productions.

LauraAlexich_HeadshotLAURA ALEXICHOriginally from Santa Barbara, California, Laura is a ballet teacher and professional dancer represented by Go 2 Talent Agency in Los Angeles. Her most recent projects include performing in Les Troyens and Die Meistersinger with the San Francisco Opera; a Microsoft, Subaru and Audi commercial; and dancing in Taylor Swift’s music video Shake It Off. For the upcoming 2016-2017 Season, Laura will perform the principal ballerina role in Andrea Chenier with the San Francisco Opera.

Noel Dilworth_HeadshotNOEL DILWORTH – Originally from Walnut Creek, California, Noel trained and danced professionally at The Alvin Ailey School, North Carolina Dance Theater, and most recently at Pasadena Dance Theatre. Noel graduated cum laude with her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine. She has performed in many of ArtistsPlus’ productions, including works created for the Laguna Dance Festival, Norton Simon Museum and LACMA.

 

 

 

josephhetzerJOSEPH HETZER – Joseph Hetzer grew up training at South Bay Ballet in Torrance, California. A member of the first graduating class (’19) of the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Joseph recently had the opportunity to perform alongside the Martha Graham Dance Company in Helios: Acts of Light. Other USC Kaufman performance credits include Dwight Rhoden’s Red, Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety Split, the pas de deux from Le Corsaire and excerpts from William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated. 

 

 

DanielWagnerDANIEL WAGNER – Originally from Monrovia, California, Daniel Wagner grew up dancing at the Pasadena Civic Ballet before going on to train at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and The Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson Academy. Daniel joined The Cincinnati Ballet as a Second Company member in 2013 and was recently promoted to New Dancer for the 2016-2017 Season. Last July 2015 he competed in an international ballet competition in Beijing, China, alongside other top dancers from around the world.
